THEATRIX- Rules

PERFORMANCE BY ROEVER TEAM

Skit (28.1.2011, 9.00-11.00 am)
  • Six participants per team, once team per college/university 
  • Theme will be given during registration
  • Settings will be provided on the stage. Only available settings should be used
  • Evaluation will be based on creating, presentation and voice clarity.
Time: 10 mins.
No of accompanists: 3

Varity  Entertainment (27.1.2011, 1.00-3.00 pm) Time: 7 mins
·         Six Participants one tem per college/university
ROEVER NATIONAL TEAM
  • Extra points will be awarded for group chemistry
  • Vulgarity in any form will not be entertained
  • Performance should not contain dance
  • Number of varieties presented will be counted
  • Use of fire, glass etc are not entertained
  • Judging criteria will be on the basis of wackiness, innovative ideas, out of the box ideas etc.
Street Play (27.1.2011, 3.00-5.00 pm) Time: 10 mins
  • Nine participants per team. Once team per college/university
  • Own theme can be presented
  • Social concerns can be enacted in the street play
Mime (27.1.2011, 11.00am-1.00 pm)
  • Six participants per team. Once team per college/university
  • Own theme can be presented
  • No properties or name boards must be used
  • Evolution will be based on expression, theme and presentation
Time: 5 mins

Mono Act (27.1.2011, 2.00-3.00 pm) Time: 3mins
  • One participants per college/university
  • Own theme can be presented
  • Evaluation will be based on creativity and presentation  

DANCE EVENTS- RULES


SOLO DANCE
(27.01.11, 3.00-5.00 PM)
·         One participant per college.
·         Any style except classical style is permitted.
·         Sound tracks should be in mp3 format and must be submitted at the registration desk before 1 hour of the performance.
·         Time limit 4 mins.
EASTERN DANCE GROUP (28.01.11, 11.00-01.00 PM)
·         One participant per college.
·         Minimum of 8 to 20 members in a team
·         Time limit: 8-15 mins including stage settings.
·         Sound track must be submitted in MP3 format at desk before 1 hour of the performance.
·         3 accompanists are permitted.
·         The performance will be judged based on choreography synchronization, props, theme (optional) etc.
·         Number of accompanists 5

Western Dance (28.01.2011, 1.00-3.00 PM)

·         One team per college
·         Minimum of 8-20 members in a team
·         Time limit :8-15 min including  stage settings
·         Sound track must be submitted in MP3 format at the registration desk
·         The performance will be judged based on choreography synchronization, props, them(optional) etc.                                                              

Classical Dance Solo (27.1.2011, 10.00-11.00 am)

·         Only one participant per college
·         Time limit: 6 minutes per participant
·         All forms of Indian classical dance  are permitted
·         3 copies of the synopsis of the dance must be provided  during registration
·         Sound track should be in MP3 format and must be submitted at the registration desk before their of the performance
·         3 accompanists are permitted 

MUSIC EVENTS - RULES


LIGHT MUSIC SOLO
(27.1.2011. 11.00 am- 12.00 noon)

·         One participant per college.
·         Time limit: 5 mins per participants.
·         Film songs are not allowed.
·         One instrumental accompanist is permitted.

LIGHT MUSIC GROUP
(28.01.11, 9.00 – 11.00 AM)

·         One team per college
·         Maximum of 8-15 members per team
·         Time limit: 5 mins
·         Teams are permitted to perform in any regional languages of their choice.
·         A team manager is requested to be present  near sound engineer 5 mins before the performance of the team so as to ensure proper sound leveling.
·         Music can be live on stage.

INSTRUMENTAL SOLO (Percussion or non-percussion)
(27.01.11, 12.00 to 1.—PM)
·         One participant per college.
·         Time limit: 5 mins
·         Film songs are not allowed.
·         One instrumental accompanist is permitted.
·         Instruments should be brought by the participant

CLASSICAL SOLO
(27.01.11, 10.00 to 11.00 AM)

·         One participant per college
·         Time limit 5 mins per participant
·         Film songs are not allowed.
·         One instrumental accompanist is permitted.

FOLK ORCHESTRA
(27.01.11, 3.00- 5.00 PM

·         One team per college
·         Maximum of 8-15 members per team
·         Time limit 10 Mins
·         Teams are preformatted to perform in any regional styles.
·         A team manager is requested to be present near sound engineer 5 mins before the performance of the team so as to ensure proper sound leveling.
·         Music can be live on stage.

POKKISHAM '11- South Indian Level Cultural meet- Coming soon.

Thanthai Hans Roever College of Arts and science, Perambalur, which is known for its  Cultural activities all over Southern Asia is conducting a Southindian level Cultural meet for Theatre, Dance, Music, Art and Literary events. It will probably be held on Jan 2011. Keep your fingers crossed to witness the greatest event of South India. Details will soon be Updated.
